June 28th 2009, heavy snow year. We tried to make it up to Devil's Lake in the Indian Peaks and even ambitiously to Devil's Thumb right up on the Continental Divide. It was not to be, there was too much snow. Oh well. We settled for Jasper Lake instead. There were plenty of wildflowers gracing the land and the weather cooperated nicely. 10 miles roundtrip wasn't a bad day at all. However, the Hessie TH on the way out was a mall-parking-lot mad house. Thankfully we arrived at 6:30 am and plenty of hassle free parking was available.
