8. Back Fan and PSU

Back Fan:

I had already modded the front 120mm Panaflo as you have seen and I did the rear 80mm Panaflo the same exact way. Drilled the holes, put grommets in, painted, etc... However, with this fan, it was a great deal smaller, so major care was taken when enlarging the holes for the grommets. If you screw this up, you will need to get another fan. The drill seemed way to fast for this, as it ate up one of my holes on the fan (you can see it in the lower left in one of the pics).

To avoid this, I did it manually; call me the human drill. I took the drill bit and turned it by hand. Yeah it worked! The plastic is very soft and grinds away easily. When it got a little tough, I used a pliers on the drill bit and turned it. It took about 20 minutes but it was worth it. The hole just fits without totally fucking up the fan. If you succeed, put the grommets in with care.

The bolts and grommets

Back grill and grommets

No need to use mousepad spacers on this, so I just used the grommets in the case holes as well like I did with the front. Put the 1/8 x 2" bolts in from the back, and make sure you put on your grill first! I forgot the first time and had to take out 2 bolts, damnit! They just don't pull out, you have to screw them out slowly, all 2 inches of them. Ok, all done with that. Make sure you make the air flow out and have the wires exiting the fan where you want.

PSU:

I wanted this case to be quiet so what better than the Enermax EG351P-VE (FC) 330W Power Supply! It has a dual fan design, fan speed is controled my the motherboard based on temperature and it is super f'in quiet. When I tested it out I wasn't sure if it was on; I had to look at the fans to be sure they were spinning. :D The cables are very long, which is good because more is always better than less.

As you can see, it fit fine, no modding neccessary. Ok, time for a break? Lets have an intermission to see where we are at. Read on.
