7. Front Fan Mounting

I finally had all the pieces now, the painted case and the modded and painted fan. What I wanted to be sure of though is that the 120mm fan was still isolated from any metal. This would greatly lessen vibration and noise, making the Panaflo really quiet which is what I wanted.

What I did first was put some additional grommets through the fan holes in the case frame. This will cushion the bolt that I pushed through there and then into the fan holes, which themselves have grommets. Secondly, between the fan and the case, go the mousepad, circular cut-outs, to provide enough space so that the bezel latch can work properly.

With the grommets installed, I pushed the bolts in one at a time, and screwed them into the fan grommets, all the way through to the other side. Once all four bolts were in, I placed the nuts, LOL, on the ends of each bolt and tightened gently. All done.

Pictures are worth a thousand words here so take a look at the pics.

Now that I was done with this stage, I put the back fan on in a similar fashion.
